Who We Are
Dr Natascha Wolf - Homoeopath & Acupuncturist
I have tremendous passion for health care with natural medicine and am always astounded by the body's ability to naturally heal if provided
with the correct medication and supplements. I firmly believe and have seen time and again with my patients that many diseases can be
treated with natural medication and often cured with this gentle approach.
I am a qualified and registered Homoeopath, Acupuncturist and Kinesiologist. I am registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of
South Africa and Homoeopathic Association of South Africa. I qualified in 2000 and then worked for the University of Johannesburg as a
lecturer and clinic manager before going into full time practice. During this time I have also done many further studies: a postgraduate course
in homoeopathy (3 years part time), and a diploma in acupuncture. I am also a qualified HIV counselor, have undertaken a moderator and
assessors courses and have done a level 3 first aid course. Currently I am studying functional medicine which is an exciting method of
treatment that involves a personalized science based healthcare approach that assesses and treats underlying causes of illness through
individually tailored therapies to restore health and improve function. www.functionalmedicine.org
Before starting my private practice I went to India for a number of months to work and train in a Homoeopathic hospital. This experience has
been invaluable as general medicine was combined with homoeopathic treatment in a hospital setting and showed how homoeopathy could
cure at its best. I currently act as an external examiner for master's level homoeopathic research and as a moderator for a number of the homoeopathic courses. The rest of my time is spent in my practice where I am constantly educating myself on the latest developments in
natural medicine as well as devoting myself to my practice and patients.
Dr Cherice Baker - Homeopath
Dr Cherice Baker graduated from the Technikon Witwatersrand with a Masters Degree in Homeopathy in 2001. She has been in private
practice since then. Her practice developed as a family practice, giving her experience in treating both acute and chronic conditions.
Dr Baker has a huge love of learning and she has developed a deep interest in Functional Medicine. She has been studying through the Institute
of Functional Medicine since 2011.
Dr Baker combines her understanding of Homeopathy with her knowledge of Functional Medicine to treat each patient as an individual. She
doesn't simply treat diseases. She treats the person that has the disease. She aims to understand the root cause of the imbalances in a person
that allowed the disease to develop in the first place
Dr Baker is a wife and mother and recognises the important of balance in life and how a lack of balance can impact the wellness of both an
individual and the wellness of the family. She works with her patients to create a practical balance in their lives with regard to their wellness and
lifestyle in the face of the demands of real life.
Functional Medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach and engaging both patient and practitioner
in a therapeutic partnership. It considers the interactions between genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors that affect long term health and
chronic disease. It works to support the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual.
Dr Baker makes use of nutrition, diet and exercise, she uses the latest laboratory and diagnostic tests and treats with a combination of
homeopathic medicine, herbal medicine, supplements, therapeutic diets, detox programmes and stress management techniques as she has
been taught, to guide her patients to wellness and vitality.
Dr Baker has completed the following certification programmes:
• University of Johannesburg Short Learning Programme - Complimentary and Alternative Medical approach to Reproductive Health in 2010
• Biopuncture Introduction 2006
• Body Talk Certification 2008 - 2010

Jean Holman - Body Stress Release Practitioner
"What you get, give. What you learn, teach" -Maya Angelou
I qualified as a teacher in 1985 and taught in the public sector for 5 years. Needing a break, I then worked and travelled in Israel and the UK
for a year. Upon returning, I worked in television post production for 6 years. Once I had children I wanted flexibility during my working day,
so once again I started teaching but this time, I taught in the private sector for eight years. During this period I suffered from severe back
pain and began exploring options for dealing with it. I started with the medical route and was referred for an MRI, which showed a herniated
disc in my lower back. The surgeon I was then referred to recommended a back fusion. Instinctively this did not seem right and a friend suggested BSR.
After seeing the powerful response my body had to these sessions, I realized that this was something I wanted to share. I did the five month
full time course in Sedgefield in 2005 and have been practicing ever since. At the end of 2005, en route to the Eastern Cape, we had a
serious car accident. Thankfully we all survived it, but I fractured three vertebrae and had a second MRI. This time there was no sign of a
herniated disc! Our slogan is "Unlocking Tension-Restoring Self-Healing." Again, it was BSR that allowed me to heal. It is my goal to help
others live life more fully by helping your body to release some of your blockages.
It is my experience that, "If you don't go within, you go without."
BSR is a member of COCHASA and internationally associated.
Natalie Holme -Therapeutic Reflexologist
I have always had an interest in natural remedies, products and holistic healing. In 2003 my Beekeeping husband and I started the business
"Honeysuckle House of Honey" and we manufactured natural beeswax and honey body products. Later in 2011 after the birth of my third
daughter, I began my journey with Reflexology. I completed a certificate in Reflexology with Healing Hands International. This was initially to
"test the waters" so to speak so that I could decide if Reflexology was for me. I realized that this was just the beginning. I continued my
studies through the Inga Dougans International Academy of Reflexology and Meridian Therapy in Rivonia, obtaining a diploma in Therapeutic
I desperately wanted to learn about Meridian Therapy and Reflexology the famed "Inga Dougans" way and was fortunate enough to obtain
firsthand knowledge and analogies from her during her last year of lecturing. It is so amazing that the body given the correct lifestyle and
balancing therapy can heal itself and remain in a healthy balanced state. I continue to further my education and interest by being a member
of The South African Reflexology Society and by attending Reflexology conferences and workshops.
Cathrina Vorster - Receptionist
Hi my name is Cathrina and I work as a receptionist, administrator at the Wellness centre. I have always enjoyed being around and in contact
with people. When I matriculated from school in Durban I worked at a fashion house, in insurance, Importing and exporting and in the
advertising industry. After then I had gotten married and had 3 wonderful children. As a single mom I started working at a primary school
where I was a caregiver to many children in the afternoons. I then worked at the Therapy centre in the mornings, which I enjoyed very much.
Between jobs I really enjoyed working with both the children and the therapists and their clients. That is where I met Dr. Wolf. She showed
me another side to medicine, the natural way "Homeopathy",with the means of herbal remedies and the use of acupuncture. I really have
grown as a person in this industry and am very happy to say that I have grown with the new practice. I personally have found that I have
learnt a lot about my own health and how to successfully look after it with natural medications. I have to admit that I have a massive needle
phobia and I refused to have acupuncture until one day when I was really not well. To my surprise it works wonderfully and now I can't do
without the acupuncture.
I am a convert!
Val Slade - Psychologist
I started my professional career more than 30 years ago, qualifying in the fields of nursing, social work and psychology. Following many
happy years in nursing and social work I have worked as a psychologist since 1994 when I completed my masters degree in educational
psychology at Wits University. Once qualified I worked in the Child, Adolescent and Family Psychiatric unit at Chris Hani Baragwanath
Hospital and had a part time private practice at Flora Clinic until 2001. At that time my children completed their education and we relocated
to England in the UK, where I spent another ten happy years working for the National Health Service (NHS) in the field of child, adolescent
and family mental health services. During that time I obtained an additional qualification in clinical psychology at Canterbury Christ Church
My experience, especially in psychology, has afforded me many opportunities to learn and to work with people of all ages and from all
walks of life, in a variety of settings and with a variety of difficulties. This has been very enriching for me as a person and as a professional.
Since returning to South Africa I have been in private practice and work part time at FAMSA. I have a keen interest in the training and
supervision of students, newly qualified psychologists and other mental health professionals, believing that the value of knowledge and
experience is enhanced when it is shared - and sometimes challenged!
Although predominantly psychodynamic in my approach, I consider myself to be an integrative psychologist, paying attention to the emotional, behavioural, cognitive and physiological dimensions of being human. I have found the integrative approach to be appropriate for all ages and
am equally passionate about working with children and adults.
The principle aim of my work is to help people to overcome difficulties, to enhance their personal growth, to develop positive relationships
and to have a general sense of wellbeing in our modern, often stressful, world.
